Dr Matthew GrayAs community awareness of sustainability grows we need to ask a question: what is sustainable transport? Transport is a vital component of the Australian way of life. Our transport needs and opportunities have formed that way of life, from the layout of our towns and cities, to what we do for fun on the weekend. Issues such as global warming, peak oil, congestion, mobility, air pollution, accessibility, and community cohesion will determine whether those transport choices are sustainable. Dr Matthew Gray, Sustainable Transport Officer with the Queensland Conservation Council, has 10 years experience teaching and researching in environment and sustainability issues. He will tackle the sustainable transport question, and paint a picture of a sustainable transport future for Caboolture and South-East Queensland < /td> |
