Australia's per Capita Emissions

  • 4.5x global average
  • av. Qld household exceeds 13.77 tonnes of CO2

Climate change is the biggest single threat facing the world today and the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the average Queensland lifestyle are among the highest in the world.

The Low Carbon Diet is a 30 day program that shows households how to make simple changes to everyday actions.

CREEC has become involved in this programme and is providing facilitators and some of the organisation needed to get the programme running

We are looking to bring groups of interested residents together to run a series of workshops. These workshops will cover steps that can be taken at an individual level to reduce our carbon impact on the environment

Workshops

The basic format is

  • 3 meetings of 1 to 1.5hrs
  • a series of actions will be outlined and discussed
  • successes & problems wil be shared by the group
