About the Moreton Bay Ecofest

Expo 2008 VisitorsThe Moreton Bay Ecofest is a great opportunity to be a part of showcasing, educating and encouraging the community about our local environment. This is a one day event showcasing excellence in information and products to the community on sustainable practices. This year the Friends of CREEC Association along with other community groups are cooperatively transforming the Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre into the festival named Moreton Bay Ecofest. In the past the event was known as the Sustainable Living Expo. This is Friends of CREEC 10th anniversary of the event.

The festival will be held on Sunday 10th October 2010 from 10am - 5pm at the Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre (CREEC) which is located at 150 Rowley Road, Burpengary.

The Moreton Bay Ecofest is a great opportunity for community groups, businesses, government, schools and individuals to provide environmental information, products and services to the community.

Come along and be a part of the activities and entertainment at this year’s annual event at CREEC.

The festival aims to provide:

  • Awareness and recognition of the Burpengary Catchment area and surrounding area of Moreton Bay;

  • The importance of effective sustainability and management of catchments such as the Burpengary Catchment area and surrounding area of Moreton Bay;

  • Efficient environmental information, products and services to the community.

The festival will be held over one day and will consist of:

  • Environmental information and product stalls

  • Entertainment

  • Food

  • Talks

  • Competitions

Stallholder Categories

The following is a list of the stallholder categories which will be held at the festival:

The Market Place

This is the place where stallholders can display and market goods and services, aiming at protecting the environment, saving water and energy, gardening, household improvements and other sustainability initiatives.

The Amphitheatre

The shady and fully grassed amphitheatre area is the great place to unwind and relax after exploring the multitude of market stalls. Take a break here and have a bite to eat while relaxing at the same time.

Food Court

Look no further than the food court area where you can choose from a variety of tasty cuisines to indulge in. Every type of food and drink to satisfy hunger and thirst, for young and old, from mid morning to late afternoon will be available.

Main Stage

The Main Stage area will feature local music talent, high profile speakers on environmental topics, school bands and other interesting acts to check out.

The Auditorium

Displays by community environmental groups will be showcased in the large comfortable auditorium.

Kid’s Zone

The Kid’s Eco zone is full of fun, interesting and engaging eco activities and displays for children of all ages. Here, children can be entertained by a range of activities and be immersed in educational experiences on environmental related topics. On display will be school competition entrant’s work showcasing the varied talent from our local area.

Business & Technology

Explore a range of businesses offering sustainable products and services for the home and work.

Community

Becoming involved with a community organisation is a great way to do something for the local community. At the festival you will be able to check out the many different environment related organisations in the local area and find out how you can be apart of making a difference to the future sustainability of the environment.

Fashion

Check out what the festival has to offer in eco fashion. Find vibrant and trendy pre loved fashion items at the festival.

Home & Garden

Savvy consumers can expect to find a range of information, ideas and products on sustainability for the home and garden. Adopt green lifestyle practices by choosing energy efficient options and habits to reduce environmental impact on the environment.

Council & Government Departments

The festival is a great opportunity to find up-to-date information on environmental issues and on ways our natural assets are managed sustainably in the local area. Talk to friendly and informative people from the council and governmental departments on the latest environmental news.

Businesses and Organisations - Marquee supplied $200

- Without Marquee supplied $150

Due Date of Expressions of Interest Forms

Expressions of Interest Forms for the Moreton Bay Ecofest are due no later than 4pm on Friday 6th August 2010.

NB: Stallholders will receive a response to their Expressions of Interest form by Monday 16th August 2010. The festival guidelines and registration form will be sent for completion.
